A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Fear of Darkness is a short, pretty much entirely linear visual novel about a novice detective, a murder case, and its victim. There are two endings, but they're clearly based on a single choice, so... for the most part it is linear.

Made in less than 6 days pretty much from the ground up using Unity, the game features many completely original illustrations, an original soundtrack(although... I'm a developer and artist before a composer, so it's barely anything to blink at. Some may even prefer to play with sound off), several unique characters, and only 2 colors. Playtime is pretty short - just sprinting through it takes maybe 3 minutes, reading it may take 15-20.

While this game largely centers around the relationship between the protagonist and a particular girl, it would be ludicrous to insinuate that the story is in pretty much any way a romance. The game contains the following items or themes which could be upsetting to some persons, and may include others not listed here:

- Gore, including graphic visual depictions of self-harm and verbal descriptions of suicide

- Supernatural/unsettling elements including possession

- Death and murder
